SMART is here for GISD

Gainesville ISD has officially launched the SMART Tag Parent App, now available for families of student bus riders. Beginning December 13, parents can download the app to receive real-time updates on when their child boards and exits the school bus.

Registration starts with the Primary Parent listed in the school district’s system, who must complete setup before any co-parent accounts can be added. The system uses an RFID-enabled SMART Tag that students scan when getting on and off the bus, helping ensure they ride the correct bus and exit at the correct stop.

The SMART Tag system is designed to improve student safety, communication, and transportation tracking for families and the district.

The app is available for iOS and Android, and more information can be found on the Gainesville ISD transportation website.
