Galentine’s Day is taking over Historic Downtown Gainesville on Saturday, February 7th, and it’s shaping up to be a full girls’ day out. Grab your girlfriends and make a day of it — shop, stroll, sip, and celebrate friendship while supporting the local businesses that make downtown so special.

Community Spotlight: School Counselor AppreciationAs part of National School Counseling Week, Gainesville Intermediate is recognizing Kara Coberley, their dedicated school counselor who supports 5th and 6th grade students during some of their most formative years. With six years of experience in GISD, Kara is known for creating a safe, consistent space where students feel seen, heard, and supported—whether they’re navigating big emotions, personal challenges, or everyday school life. Her work focuses on building confidence, resilience, and kindness, one student at a time. The school shared that some of the most meaningful moments come from watching students use healthy coping skills, stand up for a friend, or simply feel comfortable enough to share their day.
