Gainesville always bringing it

There’s a lot happening this week.
Like the kind of week where if you say, “There’s nothing to do in Gainesville,” someone can absolutely prove you wrong.
It starts Thursday with Dot & Bam opening their doors over on Broadway. Grand openings are always fun — new space, fresh energy, people popping in just to see what it’s about. They open at 9 AM, and then the bigger celebration kicks off again at 6 PM with food, a soda bar, prizes, and open play. If you like being there at the beginning of something, this is your chance.
Friday has options.
At 5 PM, Saint Joe’s Pizza is hosting a relaxed happy hour. Nothing complicated — just pizza, conversation, and a reason to not cook. Later that night, Landon Winery keeps their Friday Music Bingo tradition going at 7 PM. It’s free to play with purchase, and if you’ve never done music bingo before, it gets competitive way faster than you expect. Good wine, good music, and people singing louder than they planned to.
Saturday is stacked.
There’s a small business workshop happening at 419 N Commerce at 10 AM for anyone trying to get their business online and organized. It’s one of those practical, roll-up-your-sleeves kind of mornings. From 11:30 to 7:30, Bodyshop Wellness will be set up at the Holiday Inn Express offering vitamin injections — B12, Biotin, Lipo blends, and more. If you’ve been curious about those pop-ups you see in bigger cities, this is one of them happening right here. At 4 PM, Bella Bliss is hosting a Bestie Mixer. Think: conversation, connection, and a Freshie Bar where you can make something fun to take home. And Saturday night? The Gainesville Civic Center fills up for the Red River Valley Ducks Unlimited event at 6 PM — dinner, auctions, games, and a full crowd.
Sunday shifts gears.
At 1 PM, The Cowgirl Mercantile is hosting a Back Room Consignment drop-off. If you’ve got quality boots, denim, turquoise, or Western pieces sitting in your closet, this is your excuse to do something with them. At 4 PM, the VFW hosts the “Lucky You” porch leaner paint party. It’s guided, all supplies included, and you leave with something seasonal for your front porch. Then at 6 PM, the Leopard Legends Hip Hop Competition fundraiser brings a completely different kind of energy to town — group performances, solo acts, vendor booths, and a lively crowd.
Monday night, The County Seat keeps Music Bingo going at 6 PM with DJ KD — three rounds, one winner per round, and a good way to make a Monday feel less… Monday.
And Tuesday, the Cooke County Library continues its weekly children’s class at 10:30 AM and 2:30 PM. Reading, movement, songs, and a consistent midweek activity for little ones.
That’s the week. Some of it’s creative. Some of it’s competitive. Some of it’s just an excuse to get out of the house. But it’s all happening here.
