Spring has hit Gainesville

Spring has hit Gainesville
are yall ready?

Sarah Brock

Mar 24, 2026

As spring settles in, Gainesville begins to shift in all the right ways. The pace picks up, familiar spaces feel a little more alive, and there’s a steady rhythm of events, gatherings, and small moments that bring people together. It’s the kind of week that reminds you how much is always going on — if you know where to look.

This past week was a good reminder of what this town does best.

The GISD District-Wide Art Show brought out families, students, and some seriously impressive talent — the kind that makes you stop and go, “okay… we’ve got some creative kids around here.”

Events like that don’t just fill a room — they remind you how much is happening right under your nose.

And honestly… that energy is carrying right into the rest of this week.

 What’s Happening Next

Here’s what’s coming up (and worth getting out of the house for):

Dinner That Gives Back

Chicken Spaghetti Dinner

Whaley United Methodist Church – 701 Rosedale Dr

 Thursday, March 26

 5:00–7:00 PM

$15 per plate (kids under 5 eat free)

One of those classic small-town nights — good food, easy plans, and every dollar going back into local organizations right here in Cooke County.

A Full Spring Day at the Ranch

Spring Celebration Mixer – Lone Oak Ranch

 8484 S FM 372, Gainesville

Friday, March 27

 11:00 AM – 3:00 PM

$25 adults | $9 kids | $3 ages 5 & under

Food, games, wagon tours, a petting zoo — basically a full day to be outside and enjoy spring the way it’s supposed to feel.

Show Up & Cheer Loud

Special Olympics Track Meet

Gainesville High School

This Saturday

Starts at 10:00 AM

If you’re looking for something meaningful to show up for — this is it.

Bring your kids, bring your friends, and cheer loud.

👀 Coming Up (Don’t Wait Too Long on These)

These aren’t this week — but they will sneak up on you:

Girls’ Night, But Make It Western

Cow Paint Party at Saint Joe’s Pizza

207 N Commerce St

April 20

6:00–8:30 PM

$35 per ticket

Seats are limited, and this is one of those events that always looks “cute” until it’s sold out.

Grab Your Team Early

Chamber Golf Tournament

Gainesville Municipal Golf Course

May 1

If you’ve got a team (or an excuse to make one), now’s the time — these spots go fast.

A Night That Celebrates the Best of Gainesville

Shining Stars Banquet

Gainesville Civic Center

May 4

 6:00 PM

One of those events that reminds you how much good is happening in this community — students, educators, and the people shaping what’s next.

The Gainesville Gazette is continuing to grow — and we love getting to share more of what’s happening around town.

We do our best to keep up with everything going on in Gainesville and the surrounding areas, but if you’ve got an event, a business, or something fun coming up… we want to know about it.

This is a space to highlight everything happening in our community — the big events, the small ones, and everything in between.

If you’ve got something coming up:

Send it to us

Tag us

Or drop it in the comments so others can see too

Let’s make this the place people check when they’re wondering,

“what’s going on this week?”

And just a heads up —

advertising opportunities will be opening soon for local businesses
